Ceramic coating Stratford-upon-Avon

A ceramic coating locks in the gloss and makes your car far easier to keep clean. We apply it in our indoor studio at Langley Farm, and only after the paint has been properly decontaminated and polished, so the finish underneath is as good as it can be.

What does a ceramic coating do?

A ceramic coating is a liquid protection that bonds to your car's clear coat and cures into a hard, slick layer. It sits on top of the paint rather than washing off like a traditional wax, which is why people choose ceramic coating in Stratford-upon-Avon when they want their car to look sharp for longer with less effort.

In day-to-day use you'll notice three things. The paint has a deeper, glassier gloss. Water beads and runs off instead of sitting on the panels. And dirt, road film and bird droppings don't grip as hard, so a regular wash brings the car back much more easily.

Why preparation matters more than the coating

A coating is clear. Whatever is on the paint when it goes on – swirls, scratches, tar spots, old wax – gets sealed in underneath. That's why we never coat straight onto a car that has only been washed. The process always starts with a full wash and decontamination: snow foam, a safe hand wash, iron fallout remover and a clay bar to leave the surface completely clean.

Then comes paint correction. Depending on the condition of the paint, that might be a single-stage machine polish to lift the gloss, or a multi-stage correction to remove deeper swirls and light scratches first. The better the paint before coating, the better it looks for the life of the coating.

Is a ceramic coating right for you?

  • You've just bought a new or nearly new car and want to keep the paint looking that way
  • You're booking paint correction and want to protect the result
  • You wash the car yourself and want it to clean up faster
  • Your car lives outside and sees plenty of rain, tree sap and road grime
  • You'd rather not re-wax the car every few weeks

If you'd prefer something lighter, a ceramic spray sealant is available as an add-on from £30 and a ceramic wax or sealant is included in our Beast Detail. We'll explain the difference honestly and suggest what suits how you use the car.

How we apply a ceramic coating

  • Inspection – paint checked under studio lighting so we can agree the right level of preparation
  • Wash & decontamination – snow foam, hand wash, iron remover and clay bar
  • Machine polishing – single or multi-stage, depending on the paint
  • Panel wipe – polishing oils removed so the coating can bond properly
  • Application – coating applied panel by panel and levelled by hand indoors
  • Handover & aftercare – we walk you round the car and explain how to wash it safely

Living with a coated car

A coating makes maintenance easier, but it still needs the right care. Wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and a clean mitt, avoid automatic brush washes, and dry with a soft microfibre towel. Remove bird droppings and tree sap promptly rather than leaving them to bake on. Treated this way, the coating keeps its slickness and water-beading, and your car keeps that just-detailed look between visits. If you'd rather not wash it yourself, our valeting service uses safe hand-wash methods that suit coated paint.

Because every car needs a different amount of preparation, ceramic coating is priced after we've seen the paint. Send a few photos on WhatsApp or book an inspection and we'll give you a clear figure before any work starts.

Ceramic coating FAQ

Common
questions

How much does ceramic coating cost in Stratford-upon-Avon?

Ceramic coating is priced after we've seen the car, because the biggest part of the job is preparing the paint. A newer car in good condition needs far less polishing than one with heavy swirls. Send us photos or book an inspection and we'll give you a clear price before any work starts.

Do I need paint correction before a ceramic coating?

In almost every case, yes. A coating seals in whatever is on the paint, including swirls and light scratches. At minimum the car is fully decontaminated and machine polished so the finish under the coating is clean and glossy.

How is a ceramic coating different from wax?

Wax sits on the surface and wears away fairly quickly. A ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and cures into a harder, more durable layer, so it keeps its gloss and water-beading much longer and makes washing easier.

Does a ceramic coating mean I never have to wash my car?

No – the car still gets dirty, but it cleans up much more easily and dirt doesn't cling as hard. We'll show you how to wash a coated car safely at handover so the coating keeps performing.

Is there a cheaper option than a full coating?

Yes. A ceramic spray sealant is available as an add-on from £30, and our Beast Detail includes a ceramic wax or sealant after multi-stage polishing. We'll help you choose based on how you use the car.
